Blisland School 'Fun Day'
A fine group of men prepare to sing for the children, parents and friends at a 'Fun day' being held at Blisland Community Primary School, in nearby Waterloo on Sunday 2nd July. Though only a small group were able to attend, and despite being unable to organise accompaniment at short notice, it was a fine and enjoyable morning, and our attendance was gratefully acknowledged by the Executive Headteacher Mrs Catherine Stoate. The Children joined in the 'A Capella' singing with 'Cousin Jack', clearly knowing it somewhat better than the 'boys in blue' (those present pledged to rectify this!). Though not the mainstream event we are known for, we have recently been awarded the 'Presidents Plate' by the Cornwall Federation of Male Voice Choirs, for our work within the community, at events such as this.
The long term roadworks on the A30 meant that the only route back home for most of us was unfortunately via The Blisland Inn, and after being entreated by the landlady, we reluctantly (as if) agreed to an impromptu and most enjoyable lunchtime afterglow.
A thank you from the school......
