On Monday 4th December, the village of Sladesbridge turned on their Christmas lights, and Loveny were invited to help the evening along with some Christmas Carols. The evening was centred on the Slades House Inn and Restaurant, and it was outside the inn that we began by singing three carols, as the wonderfully cheerful show of colour was turned on. Everyone then returned to the welcoming warmth and ambience of the inn to continue with a mixture of well known and some less known traditional carols. Next time you pass through Sladebridge in the dark make sure you slow down and take it all in , I am sure that you will agree, a great effort by the village!
Father Christmas had made an appearance during the evening which pleased the many local children that had come along, and the Inn was bustling with activity. Before going on to sing a few songs from our afterglow repertoire, the Inn's Landlord, Landlady and Family provided us all with a 'pint and a pasty' and a mince pie and cream. Many thanks to Alan Jennings, Jackie and Nicky for the refreshments, and for inviting us to join them for the evening. We will be Carol singing in Bodmin this coming Friday 8th December, starting in the Belmont Residential home, followed by the White House Residential home. and on to the 'Hole in the Wall'.
Our next concert is in St Neot Church on Thursday 14th December at 7.30 pm. We look forward to welcoming our special guests Maggie Holden and Rosemary Turner....please join us!
